According to UN Women.org, “When more women work, economies grow. An increase in female labour force participation—or a reduction in the gap between women’s and men’s labour force participation—results in faster economic growth.”
This isn’t always easy as a black woman given our socio-economic issues, gender and racial prejudice and “Double Jeopardy- to be black and female“, however that hasn’t stopped our melanin rich “Black girls who rock” from setting the stage and showing us how our light can shine brightly too.
My name is Tiisetso Gama, a simple girl trying to navigate her way through the deep dark trenches of corporate South Africa. I am a digital marketing enthusiast, blogger, wife, mother and ice-cream lover. I needed a little motivation from beautiful black women who are owning their own spaces, and figured you might too. I’ll also share on what makes us glow up through beauty, lifestyle and motherhood related posts. Journey with me as I showcase women of colour from all over the world living their best lives, and “celebrating the beauty, power and resilience of black women”, or as CaShawn Thompson called it #BlackGirlMagic.
