  • Do you ever dress up for no reason? Since we’re mostly working from home and not going out that much, I find myself missing getting dolled up and wearing heels. So if I get the chance, I make sure my feet don’t touch the ground. It’s one of those simple pleasures that form a part of my self care routine.
.
What’s a simple pleasure for you?

  • A year ago today ❤️ A 4 month old Mzi and a 4 year old Mbusi. I knew it was important to capture the moment when lockdown began and all our lives changed forever. But more than that I knew it would be a memory they’d cherish forever. So now I make sure to take atleast one photo of the two of them together each week, so they can see how they grew their brotherly bond over time.

Do you remember what you were up to this time last year?

  • A good weekend was had! 🎉

There’s nothing like a little fun in the sun to get us ready to tackle the week head on, even with the two tone arms. Happy Monday y’all ❤️

Fetching Mbusi from school with Mzi has become a little ritual that both of them love so much. It’s the excitement of seeing each other in their little faces that gets to me because he always recognises his brother first, seeing as I switch up my masks as much as I switch up my hair 😂. As much as Covid took away so much, the fact that we can work from home and enjoy these moments means it’s also given us that much more.
.
What has Covid changed for you that you can be grateful for?

  • I love weddings 😍
.
It always takes me back to the same commitment we made 7 years ago, to have and to hold, till death do us part. That covenant still stands, regardless of how we feel on a daily basis, because we choose each other everyday. Now let me put these shoes to good use and dance up a storm in the street 💃🏽

With all the restrictions, we all think twice when considering booking anywhere, but as long as establishments are COVID-19 compliant, taking a little time out to breathe wouldn’t be such a bad idea. I’ve started embracing “one night only” travel, because sometimes a weekend or more just isn’t feasible. We’ve all had to start adjusting and a little change can make a big difference so don’t knock it til you try it. For now, I’ve got my eye on some rooftop hotels in braamfontein that I’m itching to go check out.
